Gerald S. Divaris, chairman and CEO of Divaris Real Estate, Inc. (DRE), announced two leases totaling 37,400 square feet of retail space in North and South Carolina. All negotiations were handled through the Charlotte office of DRE.

Haverty’s Furniture Company leased 35,000 square feet of space in Wendover Commons located at the northwest corner of West Wendover Avenue and Sapp Road in Greensboro, North Carolina. Havertys, established in 1885, is a full-service home furnishings retailer with 122 showrooms in 16 states in the Southern and Midwestern regions providing its customers with a wide selection of quality merchandise in middle to upper-middle price ranges. DRE’s Diana Teitsma represented Haverty’s in the lease negotiations with the landlord, HDC-Wendover-Greensboro-Partners, LP. Teitsma has been the tenant representative for Haverty’s for over ten years, securing locations in Winston-Salem, Fayetteville and Wilmington, North Carolina. Other tenants confirmed for the soon-to-be developed Wendover Commons shopping center include Academy Sports and Zoe’s Kitchen.

Kay Jewelers leased 2,400 square feet of retail space in the Divaris -leased and -managed North Hampton Market located at 6019 Wade Hampton Boulevard in Taylors, South Carolina. Kay Jewelers is a division of Sterling Jewelers Inc., headquartered in Akron, Ohio. Together with Signet Jewelers, its parent company, Kay Jewelers is the largest specialty retail jeweler in the world. The lease was handled on behalf of the landlord, North Hampton Market South Carolina, LLC, by DRE’s Charles Neil and Diana Teitsma. Other tenants in the 114,935-square-foot shopping center include Target, Hobby Lobby, Petsmart and Mattress Firm.
